The End of The World?!

Oh no! Hurry and get with your family because the world is going to end… or not! There are so many silly theories that people are taking seriously. I will tell about some interesting theories about the end of the world, for a good laugh, or a serious consideration!

One theory was about the Mayan calendar. It was dated for December 21, 2012 for a new cycle to begin. Another theory is a pole shift. This is where the crust and mantel will suddenly shift. It resembles the peel of an orange spinning around the fruit of that orange.

Another theory is a galactic alignment. This is where the sun appears to cross through the Milky Way, exposing Earth to powerful galactic forces that will hasten its doom. This could possibly happen through a pole shift.

There is also a theory where planet X will collide with Earth, therefore destroying Earth altogether. There is another theory about the solar flares from the sun. Some believe that the sun will give off extremely high solar flares causing the earth to heat up like an oven.

I personally don’t believe in those silly theories. I plan to wake up Christmas morning and be with my family.

Live like there’s no tomorrow

Many of you have probably heard that supposedly, the world is going to end on December 21, 2012. I interviewed my English class (Mr. Tucker’s 5th period English) and my social studies class (Mr. Barnard’s 6th period Social Studies) with the question “What’s the last thing you would do if the world were to end?” Not to my surprise, I received many creative and hilarious answers! Here they are:
 Jimmy said he would try bull riding
 Alaina would go sky diving and spend time with her friends and family
 Maddie would also attempt skydiving
 Lily would tell her family and friends that she loved them
 Justin would , and I quote, “absolutely nothing”
 Sydney would party (most of the students agreed with her)
 Alec would escape by fly to the moon(other students had the same answer)
 Nick set a trend by saying he would party on Mars (Andy agrees with Nick)
 Many would say their final goodbyes to loved ones
 Others would spend all of their money
 Olivia would surf, skydive, and ride in a hot air balloon
 One of my peers said that they would free all of the puppies in pounds and animal shelters
 Another student declared that he would host a huge party and them burn down his house
 A wacky answer I heard was to sleep in a furniture store and ride a unicorn with Beyoncé
 Mr. Barnard said that he would celebrate his anniversary with his wife
 Others would rob banks
 One of my fellow students said that he would eat, watch Cake Boss with his mom and Uncle, wear no pants, and listen to Taylor Swift all at the same time

Cross your fingers, December 21 is coming up!

End of the World (Teacher Thoughts)

What do our teachers think about “the world ending on 12/21/12”???

Mr. Libey- It’s the end of the world and I feel fine.
Miss Wright- not going to end
Mr. Hodgin- That is crazy; it’s not going to happen.
Mrs. Wahlstrom- not going to end
Mr. Iagulli- not going to end but is a cool theory
Mrs. Washburn- will end, but not soon
Mrs. Hauser- will end, but not soon
Miss DiPietro- not true: In quote “Have fun that day just in case”
Mr. Brown- In quotes “I will give a million dollars to every student that thinks the world will end and it happens”
Mr. McCord- not true
Mr. Young- not true, but will end eventually because nothing lasts forever
Ms. Vandor – “It’s the end of the world as we know it….but no, really, I took the day off so I could drive to Chicago to be with my family just in case.” (really she wants to be home when her sister and brother-in-law come in from Florida!)
