On Friday September 7, two earthquakes hit Southwestern China. They both had about a 5.6 magnitude and many aftershocks followed. Over 821 people were injured and 80 people are known to be dead. Since the earthquakes were in a mountainous area of China, boulders are blocking many roads and thousands of houses have been destroyed. The damage done has slowed down rescue efforts as well. Though they are slowly clearing the roads to continue searches.
