What’s the fuss when you cuss?

By, Sarah J. B.

Is it okay for kids to say bad words?

In my opinion, it is definitely not okay for kids, or really anyone, to cuss. Every day at school I hear kids saying unacceptable word or things to each other, and they don’t even take into consideration what they are actually saying. Cuss words were in my opinion, invented for people who can’t control or express their feelings in a civilized manner. I understand though, that when you slam your finger in the door, or something like that, your first reaction might be to scream out a cuss word. Next time, try to just say “Ouch!” It will most likely help you break your bad habit of cussing.

Try saying the color of the word, not the word itself, as fast as you can! Good luck!

My friend was playing this game once and she would always look like she was having fun. I decided to get it myself (it’s free) and now I am addicted!! This game is fun, and really, really, really ADDICTING!!!! I play it so many times a day. My friend even told me she deleted it because she didn’t like the fact the she was so addicted to it. Only two week later she freaked out and got it again. It’s really fun but don’t be fooled into getting the other games this company may advertise because then you’ll be on your phone and never get off!! Stick to just this one!

Fun Brainteasers!

By, Purple People Eater

Is there anyone out there who loves to have their brain challenged? Well it’s your lucky day; I have some brainteasers that will make you think.

Question: What do you put in a toaster? Answer: Bread. Did anyone say “toast”? That is a common answer that most people think.

This next one is a riddle. You go into a town on Friday, and you leave the town three days later on Friday.

How is this possible?

Answer: Your horses’ name is Friday.

This last riddle I’ve known as long as I can remember. April showers bring May flowers, what does a Mayflower bring? Answer: Pilgrims.

I hope you enjoyed these riddles!

Defying Gravity

By, 911

google images

It might seem impossible, but the only thing impossible is impossibility itself. The Apple app Gravity Guy allows you to do the impossible.

The story is where the character is being put in prison, but breaks out and is on the run. You tap on the screen to make the character go from the floor to the ceiling and vice versa. You do this while avoiding obstacles like a robot police officer following you. There is also multiplayer. You can choose up to four colored gravity defiers and play as all of them by tapping on certain parts of the screen as you help them dodge obstacles.

If you want a game that requires focus but still has some action, you should get Gravity Guy.

Book Reivew

By, Sugar Plum

I just finished reading the book Witch and Wizard. It was a really good book – full of suspense and fantasy/sci-fi. The book was written by James Patterson, a very good author. If you liked Harry Potter, or Percy Jackson this book is for you. Don’t worry it’s a series so it doesn’t just end right away. If you have already read the Witch and Wizard series, you may be interested to know that James Patterson has two other series. Be sure to check those out as well! Just remember, the next time you go to the library to look for James Patterson and read one of the best bo

Horoscopes for Today

Horoscope for Thursday, September 27

Published on Thursday September 27, 2012

IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY: This year you experience many different feelings that help guide you. You sometimes wonder which voice to listen to, but only you can decide that. You often have issues with the opposite sex. Maintain your sense of humour, and everything will work out fine. Transform your attitude, and you’ll transform your life. If you are single, you come from a place of compassion when you meet someone. Be vulnerable yet open to the fact that this person might not be Mr. or Ms. Right. If you are attached, share a new hobby with a sweetie in order to become closer. PISCES can drag you down.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

Your intuition directs you as to which way to go, though you could feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. You see the potential for change, but you need a boss or supervisor to go along with you. You might opt not to share everything you are thinking. Tonight: Not to be found.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

A friend seems to zero in on an issue, which helps you to verbalize and express your thoughts. A partner cares, but he or she initially might show it as hostility. Get past this person’s behaviour. Detach, and you will see more. Tonight: Where your friends are.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

You are on top of your game, and you understand what makes an associate function in the way that he or she does. Open up to a talk, and share more of what you think is needed. Be aware of what others suggest as well. Tonight: A must appearance.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Detach before making a final decision. You intuitively want to know more of what could make a situation work. By stepping back, you will gain greater insight for how to proceed. Evaluate what is needed at the moment. Tonight: Your feelings need to lead the way.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

Recheck any agreements that could impact your finances. You have very high ideals, and you want to satisfy them. Sometimes double-checking is important in ensuring that everything is proceeding as you’d like. Be willing to flow with a change in plans or a call that takes too long. Tonight: Deal with a family member directly.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Defer to someone who really wants to call the shots and make the decisions. You might not agree with this person, but you need to witness the end results of his or her actions. A child or loved one interjects a delightful element into your day. Tonight: Make calls and figure out weekend plans.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

You deal with others directly and with self-confidence. You know what your expectations are, and, for the most part, you share them with those involved. You could get into a heated conversation at first, but let it go — don’t let it mar your interaction. Tonight: Off to the gym.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Your sense of direction calls for some quick decisions. Your ability to see beyond an issue and understand the consequences of certain actions allows you to make the right move. Deal with a passionate individual directly; remember that this person cares. Tonight: Choose something fun.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Think through a problem with key players. What you see happening is OK, even if on some level you don’t buy someone else’s version of the story. Nevertheless, you plan on making an important change because you see the wisdom of making it. Tonight: Happy to be home.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Keep conversations moving. You have an intuitive sense of what you want to hear. Do not let frustration build, and realize that you have no control over others. Stay upbeat. A conversation opens up a situation. Tonight: Visit with a friend over a drink and munchies.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

You might not understand the financial implications of what you are seeing. Someone might be more deceptive than you think. If you are unsure, say little and avoid making any commitments. A boss or higher-up tests your patience. Tonight: Think “budget.”

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

You might want to understand what is going on with someone at a distance. You could be unusually aggravated with a loved one, but let these feelings pass. A friend encourages you to go along with his or her idea. Say “yes.” Tonight: Beam in what you want.

Indiana News

By, Lucy D.

You may have heard many sad stories in your life like a person chasing his dream, or living it, or loosing it.  I know that I am one to tear up at many stories and this is one of those stories.

A man’s wish was to see a Colts game at Lucas Oil Stadium. Now that is many people’s wishes but this was different –  this was a man suffering from cancer’s last wish. This man got tickets to the game from his senior care home but when the players found out about it they took the man on the field and let him watch the game field side. The man met the players and even got an autographed ball from Andrew Luck. Meeting the star player, Andrew, made him cry, which of course made me cry. I am glad that the man got his wish.

You can find more about this story in the news here.

Gossip Girl!

By: Lucy N.

Want any gossip? This stuff may not be the juiciest but if you want to keep up with your school news then I’ll keep you posted. I want to thank all staff and students for supporting my friends and me with some surprising school news.

What do you about the cafeteria food? Lunchroom boycott? Not me I think that the lunches are mostly delightful except… way too small of portions! We are hungry, and growing children who, NEED to eat, a lot.

P.A.T (Principal after Tom [interim]) We have a new principal I hear! I’ll put those rumors to rest because – IT IS true!!! I met him on Tuesday! He wont be our principal just yet though – he starts in a few weeks.

Here is a little word of advice from some staff, for rookie teachers at Camp “T”.: BEWARE, and always watch your back!

Have you heard? Ms. Gundrum got a new pup! And Mr. Zoeller’s wife is having a baby!
